At Haven Memory Care, we are unique in our approach to care for our residents. We understand that clinical care is the most important aspect of memory care. Each resident has a disease that requires detailed attention to medical treatment, and each resident is unique in this requirement. Under this specialized umbrella of care, we also focus on activities that are almost as critical to the care of our residents. We tailor our activities based on where our residents are in the progression of their disease. We have group activities that include the entire community, such as movies or karaoke. Some residents may not participate or be verbally engaged, but they are socially engaged, and we recognize how important this is. For the most part, our activities consist of smaller groups of 4 to 8 residents who are at similar stages of their disease. We also recognize the importance of stage-specific dementia activities. Activities such as pet therapy, music therapy, aromatherapy, and warm hand massage can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their diagnosis.
